Japan 2025: Day 8

Today was our penultimate day in Osaka and since we didn't have anything major planned we decided to sleep in. Our only obligations were tickets we had purchased for Jujutsu Kaisen and Delicious in Dungeon exhibitions.

We departed our hotel at 9am and chose to treat ourselves to some delicious Blue Bottle coffee, easily one of the things that I miss most about living in San Francisco. We then headed to the Jujutsu Kaisen exhibition for 10am where we spent the next two hours. Unsurprisingly, a themed cafe was attached to the exhibition and seeing as it was noon we decided to grab a quick bite. Next on the docket was the Delicious in Dungeon exhibition while being little shorter was still super fascinating for fans of the manga / anime.

We retreated to our hotel for a couple of hours to determine what to do for the rest of the evening. Nine years ago when we were in Osaka we visited the Kaiyukan aquarium and I thought it would be interesting to see what has changed after all that time. I am happy to report that it is just as breathtaking as when we first saw it. Few aquariums are this massive which is why I would easily put it near the top of the list of places to visit if you only have 24 hours in Osaka. You will not be disappointed. We arrived at 4:30pm, left at 6:30pm, and enjoyed every minute of it.

To mimic our original visit nine years ago we rode the Tempozan Ferris Wheel, grabbed a quick dinner at McDonald's (the samurai burger was delicious), and then headed back to the hotel to start packing up because we have to relocate to Tokyo in the morning.
